Where Mountains Sing and Oceans Breathe — a musical portrait of Kaohsiung’s soul and scenery

高雄市交響樂團呈現以高雄在地依山傍海的自然景觀為靈感，為聽眾勾畫高雄山海的詩意風景。

The Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra joins 2025 International Mastero Piano Competition laureate Samuel Glicklich for a musical journey inspired by mountains and sea, painting a poetic landscape of Kaohsiung’s natural beauty.

由駐團指揮吳曜宇，以「山」與「海」為主題：從丹第描繪南法高地風情的《法國山歌交響曲》，到佛漢・威廉士壯麗詩意的《海洋交響曲》，樂團以風格各異卻同樣具自然意象的經典之作，攜手2025 國際大師鋼琴藝術節暨大賽首獎得主美國鋼琴家塞繆爾．格里克利希與男中音陳翰威、女高音范孟帆、高雄室內合唱團，一同勾勒高雄的地貌與靈魂，獻上一場城市與自然共鳴的聲音旅程。

Opening the second half of its 2025 season, the Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra reunites with Samuel Glicklich, winner of the 2025 International Mastero Piano Competition, after their acclaimed collaboration in the final round. Conducted by Resident Conductor Yao-Yu Wu, the program explores the themes of mountains and sea, presenting the grandeur and poetry of nature. Featured works include d'Indy’s Symphony on a French Mountain Air, evoking the scenic beauty of the French highlands; Glicklich’s performance of Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major, full of rhythm and color; and Vaughan Williams' A Sea Symphony, portraying the majestic sounds of the ocean. Through these three contrasting yet equally evocative pieces, the orchestra paints a sonic portrait of Kaohsiung’s unique landscapes, inviting the audience on a musical journey that blends the city’s spirit with the natural world.
