Emma Barrowman, a Canadian native born in 1986, spent her formative years in a small mountain town in British Columbia, where her fascination for dance took root. Enrolling at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School's Professional Division at 13, she dedicated five years to comprehensive studies in dance and academics, receiving the Prince Edward Award upon graduation. Following this, Emma joined the Cannes Jeune Ballet at the Ecole Supérieure de Danse de Cannes Rosella Hightower, where she spent a year with its Junior Company under the direction of Monique Loudières, concurrently performing in Italy with Leggere Strutture Art Factory.
In 2006, she joined the Bavarian State Ballet as an apprentice for a year before becoming a demi-soloist by 2010. During her time in Munich, she danced many significant roles, particularly in the contemporary repertoire, receiving the Irène Lejeune Dance Award in 2013. Meanwhile, Emma regularly participated in independent projects as a choreographer, performer, and collaborator, whether in rural parts of Bavaria or Munich’s nightlife scene.
She joined the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch ensemble in 2015, where she has since performed various roles in Pina Bausch's repertoire, collaborated on the UNDERGROUND series, as well as created new works with invited art-makers.

碧娜．鮑許烏帕塔舞蹈劇場(Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch)
碧娜・鮑許（Pina Bausch）於1940年出生於 德國索林根Solingen ，2009年逝世於 烏帕塔Wuppertal。她在 埃森 Essen 的 福克旺學校 Folkwang School 接受 Kurt Jooss 的舞蹈訓練，並達到了卓越的技術水準。不久之後，烏帕塔劇院的總監 Arno Wüstenhöfer 聘請她擔任編舞，從1973年秋季開始，她將舞團更名為 烏帕塔舞蹈劇場 Tanztheater Wuppertal。雖然初期頗具爭議，但該舞團逐漸獲得國際認可。她將詩意與日常元素相結合，深刻影響了國際舞蹈的發展。碧娜・鮑許曾獲得世界各地極具聲望的獎項與榮譽，也曾多次來台演出

可揚與他的快樂夥伴
「可揚與他的快樂夥伴」旨在集結各路有趣的歡樂夥伴，一起愉悅的演出、批判社會現象。希望以舞蹈、劇場、藝術達到人處在世界上的自由。持續創作推廣己身理念，擴展藝術圈範圍至一般大眾。人人皆可動，人人皆自由。 「可揚與他的快樂夥伴」於2015年臺北藝穗節時集結，發表《是的，關於現今媒體的現象，我在進行一個剪貼的動作》獲永真明日之星獎、觀眾大心獎。隨後即以此團體名稱走跳江湖。創作者可揚本人於2016年獲國藝會新人新視野補助，發表作品《從前從前，那裡有座國立編譯館》進行北中南三地巡演。2019年1月於臺北正式立案為演藝團體，持續發表作品。2021年開始投入口述舞蹈，每年舉辦明盲合作的身體工作坊、為作品
