This innovative interpretation of 《The Peony Pavilion》 – 〈The Surprise Dream〉 presents a fresh, multilingual perspective, inviting you to immerse yourself in a cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural auditory feast!

Concert Highlights:

1. Multilingual Interpretation

While the Urtext Version of 《The Peony Pavilion》 takes you on a journey through history, this concert reinterprets 〈The Surprise Dream〉 from diverse cultural perspectives through multilingual performances. This approach transcends borders, offering a new aesthetic experience.

2. A Dialogue Between “Bel Canto” and Kunqu Opera

By transforming the Kunqu text into multiple languages, we create an artistic dialogue between Western vocal music (Bel Canto) and Kunqu singing techniques. The fusion of different cultures and languages under the same theme sparks unexpected creativity, enriching the emotional and poetic depth of the performance.

3. Overcoming Language Barriers & Expanding Artistic Boundaries
