季廷恩獨奏音樂會：活著

加州出生、現居台灣的古典吉他家 Dean McDaniel Keith 將呈現一場由在世作曲家所創作的吉他音樂演出。演出內容包含台灣首演作品，作曲者為 Terry 和 Gyan Riley，以及由劉明睿創作的世界首演作品。

California born and Taiwan-based Classical Guitarist Dean McDaniel Keith presents a program of guitar music written entirely by living composers. The program includes the Taiwanese premiere of works by Terry and Gyan Riley as well as the world premiere of a work by Liu Ming-Jui.

 季廷恩與吉他的緣分是從有記憶以來，他在加州出生，兒時養成收集各國樂器的愛好，並且十分著迷於樂器發出的各式聲音。季廷恩認為每個人都是音樂家，從出生開始就被賦予感受與喜歡音樂的能力，任何一種音樂包含自然、城市裡的各種聲響。

季廷恩期望自己可以做一個盡情為音樂付出而不被藝術制約的自由的人。高中時期，他因酷愛重金屬而加入樂團擔任吉他手，同時開始以音樂為志業的一條路。大學時期，季廷恩跟著美國古典吉他大師——克里斯多福．帕肯寧（Christopher Parkening）學琴。畢業後，他來到台灣跟著方銘健教授攻讀碩士及博士；論文研究台灣吉他詩人呂昭炫。

自2011年來到台灣求學、生活至今，任教於逢甲大學，並持續研習吉他專業，從事但不限於教育、表演和創作等項目。

季廷恩對吉他的熱愛及專業更像是個嗜好，精進吉他演奏與對音樂廣泛的探究，是他之所以存在的特別之事。彈奏吉他並沈浸在吉他所發出來的聲音裡，是他感到快樂的事，也是人生中很重要的事，如同有人享受閱讀而從書裡看到不一樣的世界。他在自己彈奏的吉他聲音裡，感受到多重的情緒與視野。

Born in Santa Cruz, California, Dean McDaniel Keith has been based in Taiwan since 2011. As a child, he became obsessed with collecting instruments from all around the world. When he was six years old, he received a classical guitar for Christmas. What he really wanted, however, was an oud, a kind of Arabian lute. He cried a lot and quit after only two weeks. Nonetheless, he continued to love music.

After sampling nearly every instrument in the orchestra and a wide variety of others from around the world, in high school Dean returned to the guitar. He began to play in a metal band but then moved on to flamenco, and, finally, classical. He completed his undergraduate degree under the tutelage of legendary American Virtuoso Christopher Parkening. Dean’s graduate studies in Taiwan (M.M., D.M.A.) were with Dr. Fang Ming-Jian where his research focused on Taiwanese guitar music.

Currently Dean serves on the faculty of International School of Technology and Management at Feng Chia University. His repertoire ranges from Bach to the Beatles and everything in between.
