女人的手指在地圖上移動著，槍枝藏進書中扉頁，畫外音指引著行走路徑與方向，「一步、兩步、三步、四步，轉彎」—一場復仇犯罪即將展開。一個被奪走親生骨肉的母親精密計劃尋找兒子，從西班牙至葡萄牙，直至遇見養母與男孩，深夜，書信，指尖勾勒路線，三人聯手欲「偷」回原屬於他們的東西。

以西班牙佛朗哥政權時期發生的嬰兒失竊現象為靈感，《夜晚尤其是》以黑色電影外衣包裝一個母愛尋親的故事。導演大膽融合多種類型元素，從黑色、犯罪，乃至公路電影。片段運用遮罩畫面，並以大量畫外音呈現第一人稱角色心理，也強調了女性作為敘述主體的存在。她、她和他，他們在歷史上彷彿「被消失」的鬼魅，但透過這些書信，身體的移動，以及手的觸摸，他們便無所不在。

When Vera was young, she wasn't able to take care of her son and gave him up for adoption. Years later, when she tried to find him, the institutions told her that her file did not exist. She has continued to look for him ever since. When Cora was young, her doctor told her that she could not have children. Cora has dedicated her life to teaching piano lessons and caring for her adopted son, Egoz, about to turn 18. Now, the paths of these three characters are about to cross and change their lives forever.
