When you think of Leifeng Pagoda, what comes to mind? A tragic romance between human and demon? Or the merciless golden bowl of the monk Fahai?

This production invites you to do more than just "watch" a play. Through cutting-edge sound design, we invite you to "hear" the drama. Immerse yourself in a world of melody and atmosphere as we reinterpret a thousand-year-old emotional entanglement.

The Narrative Power of Sound and Sight

Through the lens of "Sound Theater," audio is no longer just a background element—it is a narrative force that moves alongside the actors. As the plot reaches its climax, immersive soundscapes will emerge from all around you, even from above. This design extends the breath and movement of the performers, transporting you to the banks of West Lake to feel the sensory impact of the "Flooding of Jinshan Temple."

A Dialectic of Human and Demon

While many adaptations idealize the love between the White Snake and Xu Xian, we return to the classic text to unearth the characters' true inner worlds:

    The White Snake: Though a demon, she possesses the purest and most steadfast heart, practicing for a thousand years just to keep a single promise.

    Xu Xian: Affectionate and gentle, yet prone to hesitation and retreat when faced with fear.

As the truth is unveiled, we may discover a haunting reality: the shadows and doubts of the human heart can sometimes be more unsettling than any demon.
